Valley Lutheran High news

Greetings from Valley Lutheran High School. My name is Bob Koehne and as the Principal would like to share a little with you about Valley Lutheran and some of the news and accomplishments at the school.

Every spring high schools from all around the state select 2 boys to represent their school at “Boy’s State” which is a week-long government simulation. This past spring Jimmy Arwood was selected as one of Valley’s representatives. While at Boy’s State Jimmy worked hard on an energy bill which he was able to get passed through the legislature. Jimmy also ran for and was elected Governor which is the highest position at Boy’s State. He was then selected by his peers to go before a review committee and was selected by the committee to be one of two people representing Arizona at Boy’s Nation. Jimmy spent a week in Washington DC with students from around the country. He was able to get a reworked energy bill passed through the Boy’s Nation congress as well. Jimmy said, “It was an enlightening and life changing experience to be around the other students and meet with members of Congress in Washington. It was an honor to represent the great state of Arizona.” Jimmy is the student body president at Valley along with playing varsity baseball and basketball, singing in the choir and is a member of the life leader program.
Below is a link to a local article about Jimmy’s experience.
