This week we have been practicing our line for our play “The Hairy Tale”.  A message going out is don’t forget to study your lines. The deadline for getting shoes in for our field trip ends next weekend, so get in those shoes.

Week of April 4

This week in Grammar we have been focusing on subject verb agreement, and in science we have been learning about different types of waves such as mechanical, electromagnetic, transverse, and compression waves. There has been a lot of excitement for the upcoming spring play, for which we have tryouts next week, and for track and field. On Tuesday Mr. Beisel, a high school teacher, came to our school to teach the students how to properly high jump and long jump. It has been an interesting week for the seventh and eighth grade

Week of Feb 29

This week has been quite busy and fun, here is a small glimpse of it! The basketball girls and boys have played two games this week. We are finishing up our book club books, our projects are due next Tuesday. It will be interesting to see how creative everyone got with their projects. For P.E. this week we attempted to square dance. Remember we are still collecting shoes for our end of the year field trip. This week was interesting, and few by as fast as a bird!

We are still looking for 3 pallets for our project.

Wednesday, March 2 we will have an informational meeting about track and field.  If your child plans to go out for this event, please plan on attending.  We will meet right after school.

Week of January 31-Feb 5

The week of January 31st was a blast! The girls and the boys had games and practices. The 7th and 8th graders are gathering shoes for people in developing countries. This fundraiser will also allow us to go to our trip at the end of the school year. 5th through 8th graders are all doing a Book Club, which means we get into groups and we read and learn by solving higher level questions. Also, the Academic Bee is coming up soon!
