Friday February 14

Hello Atonement! This week, the girls’ basketball team played against Grace Lutheran on Wednesday and the boys’ basketball team played against Emmanuel on Thursday. In both games, the Monarchs lost, but they put a lot of effort into the games.

The 7th grade math class was learning about predictions and probability.

The 8th grade math class had their chapter 8 test on Tuesday and are now learning about sequences (an ordered list of numbers) and functions (a relationship that assigns exactly one output value for each input value).

In English, we’ve been learning about sentence clauses, simple sentences, and compound sentences. Then in reading, we watched Johnny Tremain. We also picked the 6th-8th grade students that will be going to the Spelling Bee.

In science, we are learning about the different parts of a cell, how to use microscopes, and how a virus (a strand of herreditary material surrounded by a protein coating) enters the human body. We will be taking a test next Tuesday.

Then for history, we are learning about the Political Developments in the Early Republic.

For a reminder, the 6th-8th graders need to turn in their lock-in permission slips. We hope they will have a safe and fun-filled evening. For another reminder, there is no school on Monday. We want to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day.
