Friday, November 22

On Tuesday, the A team and B team had a volleyball game at Emmaus. The B team won the second and third match, winning the game. The A team did not win, but they won the third match. The B team was supposed to have an Atonement invitational, but sadly, it was canceled. This Saturday, however, the A team will have a tournament at Arizona Lutheran Academy (ALA). We hope they will do their best to represent our school.

In Math, the 7th grade class worked on adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing mixed numbers. They had a test on Wednesday. The 8th grade class worked on percents and simple interest. The Algebra class worked on linear functions (a function with ordered pairs that satisfy a linear equation) and equations. The Algebra class has a test on Friday.

In science, we are learning about pressure, the buoyant force, fluids, and principles. The principles include: Archimedes’ principle, Pascal’s principle, and Bernoulli’s principle. We have a test on this Friday. We are allowed to use whatever formulas we write down for the test.

For history, we finished the chapter Toward Independence and had a test on that chapter. Then, we started the chapter The Declaration of Independence. We will be making a book off the Declaration of Independence at a 3rd grade level. That means that the book has to be understandable to a 3rd grader.

For religion, make sure that the 7th and 8th graders turn in their Parent Interviews and their Giving Thanks booklet.

On Wednesday, we had bag day because the 6th graders went on a hike in Prescott. Bag day is when there are multiple pieces of paper in a brown paper bag. Then, everyone pulls the slips of paper out and we do whatever was written down. It was a very fun day.

Next week, there is no school because we are on fall break. We hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and will thank God for everything he’s given us.
