Thursday is PI day (3.14 estimated for you non-geometry people). In honor of PI, we will have special math classes around the history of PI, solving problems involving PI, having contest with PI and of course eating pie. We will welcome any and all kinds of pie to eat that day. We will also celebrate in other "irrational" ways. Don McLean will be our sing of choice. If you can send a pie, we will certainly enjoy it in honor of this special day. If you cannot make or purchase a pie, any circular treat will work so that we can calculate circumference and area. Please send enough for the class. I plan to bring in lemon pies.
Join us symbolically at 1:59 as we observe a 3.14 seconds of silence to honor PI.
"Infinitely" yours,
Mr. SIelaff
