Grade 7
This is what we learned this week. We learned that opposite integers are the same distance from zero in opposite directions on a number line. Also we learned how integers opposite of each other and are the same distances from zero and two integers are called additive inverses. We even learned about comparing and ordering integers that are graphed on a number line. We learned a coordinate plane is formed when two number lines intersect.

Grade 8
This week we started Chapter 2, Algebra: Rational Numbers. In our first lesson, we learned about rational numbers. We learned that bar notation is used to indicate a repeating decimal.
Our second lesson was comparing and ordering rational numbers. The numbers 2.5 and 2 1/2 are equal to each other.
Our third lesson was about multiplying positive and negative fractions. We learned about dimensional analysis, which is the process of including units of measurements. An example is 1/5 x 5/7 = 1/7.
Next week we will continue learning about dividing positive and negative fractions and Adding and Subtracting Like Fractions.
